Our Club's Projects Comments Off

Next weekend on May 17th Rotarians will unite with the Chamber in their annual fundraiser. This is the second year that Rotarians will partner with the ROMG Chamber of Commerce on their Bloomin’ 5k Run. Rotarians will be at the water station handing out water and cheering on the runners. This is a great cause with proceeds benfitting the cancer and infusion therapy centers at Northwest and Sinai Hospitals. Volunteers needed. Call Tom Custance if you’re interested in volunteering from 7-10am on May 17th: 410-833-3360.

What’s coming up?

The following are some of the projects that we’re most proud of. We’d love to have you come to or help out with any of them! Stay tuned to this page for updates to our projects.

Rotary Dictionary Project
Rotary Chairperson: Jim Flower

The goal of the Dictionary Project is to supply a student dictionary to every third grade public school student within the Owings Mills and Reisterstown communities. Distribution has traditionally been between October and December each year. We have done this project for the past four years.

OMHS Adopt-A-Family
Rotary Chairperson: Various

For the past three years the Rotary Club teamed up with Owings Mills High School to help adopt over 70 families in Baltimore County and Baltimore City that are less fortunate than ourselves. We managed to provide these families with a nice Christmas holiday by collecting and purchasing gifts and collecting food and toiletries for them. Stay tuned next year for more info!

Humane Society of Baltimore County:
Bark in the Park and Paws on Parade

Rotary Chairperson: Rachel Heird

The club got involved in this project to help the Humane Society raise some money for a wonderful cause. Our participation involved raising money through cotton candy sales and other small prizes. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the HSBC.

Reisterstown Festival
Rotary Chairperson: Tom Custance

Thanks to the Reisterstown community for supporting us during this year’s festival! Through our sales of cotton candy and glow necklaces we were able to make generous donations to the Dictonary Project (see above) and the area Volunteer Fire Departments. Thank you, and see you next year!
